MRF - Material Recovery Facility

OUR WASTE PROCESSING PRACTICE

We aggregate Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) at our processing facility. Dry waste is sorted manually from the mix. The segregated organic waste makes the raw material for city compost and organic manure. It is also processed into vermi compost, rightly termed BLACK GOLD. Dry waste gets separated from the mix and sent to respective recycling units. The accumulated Rejects go into our Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant where electricity is produced out of it.

MATERIAL RECOVERY FACILITY

The prestigious MSGP WASTE TECH PARK in Doddaballapur over 1 hour and 30 minutes drive away from Bengaluru, is one of its kind in India.

Alternatively called Material Recovery Facility, the Waste Tech Park is getting equipped with the state-of-the-art technology for Waste Reuse and Recycling needs.

The facility is being developed into a tourist attraction, a must-visit destination.

Waste Tech Park is set to showcase all the latest solid waste recycling procudures available till date.

It is equipped with the latest technologies to process organic, dry and reject waste for industrial and commercial use.

MSGP SEGREGATION PROCESS

  • Identify categories of waste that needs to be segregated.
  • Aggregate recyclables in the assigned arena.
  • Ensure that wet, dry, bio-medical and e-waste are segregated at source.
  • The recyclable waste is collected from source, on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Toxic waste, if any, are isolated and disposed in a responsible manner depending on the kind it falls into.
  • Soiled waste is sent to an incinerator.

MSGP WET(ORGANIC) WASTE RECYCLING METHODS

COMPOSTING WET WASTE THROUGH WINDROW METHOD

  • Composting is nature’s way of recycling.
  • It is a natural, biological process done in controlled aerobic conditions that demands oxygen supply.
  • The process involves various micro organisms such as bacteria and fungi breaking down organic matter into simpler substances that make manure.

DRY WASTE

Recycling Dry Waste

  • Dry waste comprises waste that doesn’t decay
  • It has no organic material such as food in it
  • Dry waste is also known as non-biodegradable waste
  • Recycled dry waste finds a second life
  • Glass, for example, is recycled hundreds of times to make new jars and bottles
  • Metal is shredded in high temperature furnaces to produce blocks and ingots
  • Recycled metal makes raw material for new metal products sold in the market
  • E-waste is processed into clean, reusable products

MSGP PLASTIC RECYLCING PLANT

Plastic recycling is the process of recovering scrap or waste plastic and reprocessing the material into useful products like pellets, flakes and fuel.

  • Plastic recycling refers to the process of recovering scrap or discarded plastic for reuse
  • Processed plastic is converted into pellets, flakes and fuel
  • At MSGP Plastic recycling plant, the de-dusted plastic is segregated by color and type before recycling
  • It then goes for a thorough detergent wash
  • The material is then dried and sent to shredding machine
  • The machine converts the material into fine plastic flakes and pellets
  • Low-value plastic is bailed and sent to cement factories where it is used for generating fuel that runs the boilers in the factory
  • Low-value plastic goes for Light Diesel Oil (LDO) production as well.

WASTE TO ENERGY

MSGP Waste Tech Park strives to make optimum use of natural resources, including:

  • The non recycleable product we get after we process Municipal Solid Waste is termed RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel).
  • The noncombustible portion of RDF is separated from the combustible.
  • The combustible portion is turned into energy through incinerator.
